9/19/2017

Yo. Today was crazy. First off, I got peed on by a big ol' dog peeing off the top of the roof. I went home and changed then like 30 minutes later we got hit by the earthquake. The lights went out and then it was like we were in a raft and it was just like swaying and waving. We ran outside and were just in the middle of the street, but we were scared all the powerlines were going to fall but they didn't luckily. Come to find out all of the state of Mexico and Mexico City is in state of emergency. I guess there were  a few buildings that tumbled in the city but we're ok up here.

Other than that it's lit. I'm smart with my money. I save and budget, but my comp not so much. The weather is nice. It isn't too hot but the sun is bien brilliante. Or it's overcast and mmmm s'good. Living is alright. Our bathroom is just gross. We have to hand wash our clothes so I said nah, and I just save enough to get my clothes washed in one of the little tiendas. I do hand wash the g's though. Some elders in our ward got robbed at gunpoint. They took their bags watches and money. But its because they're little latinos. It is high elevation up here, especially in the hills you can feel the difference from Utah.

The baptism was a nightmare high key. First off the water in the font only went to their knees and she was too scared to go under. Her poor uncle was like forcing her down and she just wouldn't budge. So after the 6th or 7th time my comp had to get in and basically shove her down. It was pretty funny though. I had to anoint someone on Sunday and it was bad. I had to read it out of the handbook because I didn't remember it. But now I do hahaha. We had zone conference this last week it was really good, from what I could understand at least.  We were out in the boonies this week.

Earth Quake - 9/19/2017

Today there was a powerful 7.1 earthquake that hit Mexico, within 80 miles of Mexico City. Kade is ok and luckily there wasn't much damage where he is, though other parts of the city sustained a lot of damage and deaths.

Zone Conference - 9/16/2017

Here are a couple pictures of Kade from Zone Conference.

Whats up. This week was difficult just cuz I was lost the whole time with the language and in lessons. But I'm still saucin' in the city, don't get misinformed.  Everyday I feel like I'm understanding a little more. I can feel the love of Christ out here for sure. It's a little more difficult to feel the spirit all the time because when we are teaching lessons I get so focused on the language and try to understand. It's pretty cool our here though; I do love it. I know when I pick up the language pretty good in a couple months it will be 100.

We have a baptism on Saturday with a 16 year old named hermana Wendy. She has had a date for a while but her dad wouldn't sign off on it so we talked to her parents yesterday and he finally cracked. We also have a fecha for next Saturday.

The food here is pretty bomb. The way of life here is just so different. It's humbling outchea for sure. I didn't feel the earthquake. We had a really bad storm last week it flooded the streets and they were like rivers, it was insane. It's gross though, there is this part of San Andres, the main road that is always flooded with backed up sewage. There's this thing called the mexicable its like a ski lift that goes up the mountain and that's pretty much our main form of transportation.

This Saturday is Independance day so we have to be in by 5 and we have zone conference that day as well until 4 so swag. my legs are getting yoked though high key from all this climbing. There is already a noticeable difference in my quads hahaha. I got a picture I'm sending from one of the places we teach on the side of the mountain. It's a beautiful view, but the houses never stop.

I love you. Pray for me. Stay classy.

Dear family of Elder Adams,

I send you Greetings from Mexico City! I would like you to know that Elder Adams arrived safely in the field this morning. The group left the MTC early this morning and arrived at the mission home at 8:00 am. We had a good breakfast here where we could get to know each one of them a little better.

After breakfast, we had a personal interview with each one of the missionaries in the group, where he was assigned his new area and his trainer. Elder Adams will be serving in the El Mirador ward in the Xalostoc stake.

His new companion will be Elder Koford of Provo, Utah, one of the finest missionaries in the field.

His preparation day will be on Tuesdays, starting tomorrow, at which time he will be writing you.

I am attaching some photos to this email that include a photo of the whole group that arrived this morning and a photo of Elder Adams, Sister Naumann, and myself.

Please know that all is well and Elder Adams is very happy to begin his mission.

Sincerely,

President Naumann
