07/10/2018 - La Virgencita
Howdy Y'all. God bless the United States of America. I was sadder to miss the fourth of July than any other holiday, to be honest. I love Mexico but miss the good ole USof A. I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, 100% pure American Beef, home raised right here. Sorry but I love my country. I might ask my mission president to send me home one transfer early just to be able to celebrate the 4 of July next summer, just kidding.
I'm lovin it down here in Mexico. Every day seems to get more exciting. We had zone conference last week and it was awesome. President Naumann taught us about Faith and the ministering of angels and oh boy did I learn a lot. I exhort all of you to study the Lectures on Faith by Joseph Smith and his counselors. It has changed my whole perspective on what is faith and how I can better apply it. I also get to go to Polanco this week to update my visa cuz I'm at that year mark fam. It's in the city, I will be sure to get some ice cold pics for the fam outchea.
Oh, yea and we are teaching the next bishop. Our investigator Jose Eusebio came to church this week looking like Papa John's very own Peyton Manning walking into the locker room on gameday. The guy is fresh to death Y'all. We also had the opportunity to go to the temple today to do a session. I love the temple. Every time I go I learn so much. I love you hope you have an absolute baller week mama.

07/03/2018 - In God We Trust
yo yo yo, whats up fam? This week went very well. We had 4 miracle baptisms on Saturday. On Friday we found old investigators that had all of the lessons and attendances necessary, and when we asked the Hermana why she was never baptized she said it's because she never received her answer about which church was true. So on Saturday, we went with them in the morning to a baptism in the district, after the baptism she agreed to do an interview, and I promised her that in the interview she would receive her answer that the church was true, and it happened. She came out of the interview looking like a different person. We invited her and her children to be baptized later that day and they accepted the invitation to be baptized. It was an experience I will never forget.
Other than that the week went well. It is all just a blur as usual. The days just fly by! The best part of the week is this guy we always see in the street and he sometimes helps us out with a taxi ride every once in a while, he keeps Book of Mormon on his dashboard. He says it's the truth but refuses to receive the lessons. He loves the United States more than most people from the United States love the United States. Everything he owns has a giant sticker of "In God We Trust" on it, like his taxi. I'll send the picture. I told him I was from Ciudad Juarez, so now he just calls me "Juarez". I love Mexico. Love you guys. I'll see you at Christmas.
Stay golden pony boy

Hey ma, how are things going? This week went by pretty well, another transfer passed but nothing happened to me, I'm still training in the same place. We got new Zone Leaders and my dude Elder Dahle got sent off to the city. Thanks for sending me a new card, I promise I won't lose it again. That is awesome Clay got married, tell him I said congrats. And also Happy Birthday shout out to my girl Haley, love ya Haley.
We haven't had gas for the past two weeks so we have been taking cold showers, which has become immune to me from taking ice baths daily at NMMI. But other than the regular I am just chillin out here in Ecatepec. Elder Dahle gave me 2 pairs of shoes so that was the best gift I have received in my entire life. We have a barber friend in our area who cuts our hair for free, his name is Oscar. If you are ever in the Santa Maria Tulpetlac area I suggest you stop by and get a cut.
Love you, God bless.

06/20/2018 - I heard a new Drake song in the street yesterday
Dana Dana Dana, this week has just been a blur like I'm in a movie or something. Mexico beat Germany but surprisingly the people here haven't been going very crazy (well any more than the usual). The rain has started coming down this week so I have had quite the time of my life down here.
That is crazy all the guys from school are getting home here soon, I'm still chillin down here for another year pretty solid, haha but there is nowhere I would rather be than in Ecatepec México.
Sorry I don't have a lot of time this week we had a crazy district activity today and made a bunch of food and played board games because two hermanas in the district are going home next week, so we had a going away party. I got the shoes, they fit me perfect but they cut my achilles in the first 15 minutes. I was literally dripping blood from my heel just from the 15-minute walk from the apartment to the church. but I will get used to them. Other than that they are super comfortable, thank you.
And last but not least shout out to Dad for fathers day. I honestly have the best dad in the world, and I am so grateful for all the sacrifices he has made in his own life to be able to provide his family with the life we have. Thanks pops love ya more than you know. Have a good week. stay classy. Sorry, I don't have pictures this week, next week I will upload them all.
Elder Adams
(Kade also sent another cute email to Mike for Father's Day that I added below)
Happy Father's Day dad! I love you so much. the longer I'm out here the more I think of how great of a life you have provided for me. I know you grew up in a tough situation and I am so grateful you have provided me with all the things you never had. All the opportunities I have had because of your sacrifices are incredible and living in Mexico it is such a blessing to have a dad in my life who fulfills his role as a father and a husband. You really are my hero and I love you so much.

06/12/2018 - whats up old man?
Yo whats up pops!? It feels weird writing to you haha. How are things in the valley? First off happy birthday shout out to Mik, thanks for finally gettin' Court out of the house.
This week has been pretty good. We have 2 baptisms planned for this week and working with this family a lot. They are awesome and it is awesome to see them get back to being active and living the gospel.
I think the rain season is starting down here in good ole Mexico. This week was crazy - one of the companionships in the ward had a baptism a few weeks ago and Sunday we find out the guy who baptized him didn't even have the priesthood. So 9 at night on Sunday they baptized this guy again. The worst part is the dude is like 88 years old and can barely walk. How embarrassing for those elders. Just a reminder to always check to see if the guy who is going to baptize your investigator actually has the priesthood.
This week I had the assistants, the zone leaders, and the sisters training leaders in my district meeting so that was pretty insane, but it all went very well so it's all good. The hermanas in my district made me a book mark and a lemon desert that is popular down here so that pretty much made my week. We found an uber driver who is super ready to be baptized and we went to the temple with our recent convert Txus so this week went well. I don't know what else to say but I love you all and hope you have a good week.

Aye, it's ya boi. This week was pretty swell if you ask me, but we almost had 0 proselyting (sorry if I spelled that wrong) time this week for all the meetings we had. It was kinda a bummer but we were able to spend a lot of time with President Naumann so it's all good.W e also had interviews with President this week. The new vision for the mission is that every companionship baptizes 1 convert every week, so we just out here working hard and trying to find us some of God's elect. It's heatin' up down here in good ole Mehico!
Oh yea and remember those shoes you sent me about 3 months ago? Yea they are toast, already got a whole the size of Eastern Germany in em. I know, I have had 3 insoles that have been absolutely shredded, I will put a picture of this one.
We found some escogidos (choice) these last few days, so far God has been showing us how willing he is to show his misery and miracles to his children. We found a daughter and mom yesterday who live in such a humble place and they are so ready to receive the restored gospel it is insane. And there was a hermana yesterday we saw at 9 at night (we had permission to stay out late) and in 5 minutes I invited her to be baptized and she accepted the baptism date without a doubt. And we got Dari and Oscar who are going to be baptized the 16th. They are 2 kids from a part member family and their whole family has started coming to church again their parents, kids, and grandparents. They are so happy and it is such a big deal that their whole family is flying in from Campeche.
God is good, All the time. Please keep your covenants sacred and follow the priesthood keys. Love ya.

05/29/2018 - Flavored Water
Aye mama, i'm doing good down here in the MX. It's basically just like Roswell New Mexico all over again but less Mexicans haha. Training is going pretty good, it's pretty tough though. My comp is just still really worldly and all that stuff but it will come with time.
This week our President asked us to get a baptism that wasn't planned so on Friday night we went looking and found an old investigator with all the lessons and all the attendances necessary and accepted the invitation to get baptized the next day. So we set everything up to be able to hold the baptism and President Naumann had to come all the way out to our area to do a special interview and the lady did not show up. We haven't been able to find her since so that was a big ole hay-maker right in the jaw. I know I set it up to make y'all think we got a baptism but we didn't unfortunately. But God knows whats up and if she didn't show up to the interview it means she doesn't understand the importance of baptism.
We had divisions again with the zone leaders and I worked with Elder Koford again in Tulpetlac. That place is crazy. I took a picture of the view from their house. We had to have seen at least 7 dead animals in the street in those 24 hours. I don't know but I think its some kind of record. Also there are elections here soon and a guy that is running for some government position looks like uncle George so I snapped this pic. What do you think?
We are good out here, it's just hot and the sun is oh so picante. How is the family doing? Oh yea my old suit pants ripped again, just from wear and tear the threading is coming apart. Love ya'll! Have a great week and stay sweet just like honey.

05/22/2018 Who Dat?
Hola mama, how you doing? I'm doing good out here in Ecatepec. Life is good with my new comp, but the kid is crazy. It is like I'm living with my old football friends from school again, only he speaks Spanish. But we doing good and I love him to death. We are working good together so far so that is the most important part. He just kind of messes up the district because he is the only non american, but its cool.
We had a conference with President Pieper this last week, he is the President of the Mexico area. He is a member of the General 70. He is awesome and I was able to learn a lot of things from him, that is whose hand I am shaking in the picture on the Facebook page. He's not just some random guy haha.
It's crazy I'm going on that ten month mark and all the guys from school are going to be getting back here pretty soon. I love the mission and it has changed me. I feel like a grown man now, still got a baby face but I feel more mature haha. Sorry I don/t have pictures this week cuz I'm super lame but I ain't got much time on my hands right now mama. Love you have a good week. Stay classy

What is good ma? I'm doing good out here. I just talked to you like two days ago so I don't really know what else I can say right now.
I got my new comp Elder Coyo from the Dominican Republic. He is awesome, super mature and ready to work. The guy is a beast.Bbut wow do these Dominicans speak weird. The best way I can describe it is like a Jamaican or Caribbean accent but speaking Spanish. So as of now the communication has been a little off but I'm getting used to it. Like almost all Dominican he plays ball and also like every other Dominican he almost played ball for the Royals before his mission. Wwe get a long very well and he is super easy going. He looks exactly like a buddy of mine from NMMI I played football with so sometimes I look at him and I think its Brody.
I also ran into my guy Elder Astle a few times this week. I sent a picture with him. It's crazy we have been out of the MTC almost 10 months now, but we still got our handshake down so everything is alright.
I know I write very confusingly, but its all for a good cause, I really just want everyone who reads my email to develop the gift of discernment.
Mexico has been treatin' me well for the most part. Just trying to do the Lord's work out here. Love you stay safe and don't put Twinkies on your pizza.

05/8/2018 - Mama I wanna scream so loud for you
Hey mama, ahhhhhhh I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz im so proud of you....
First I want to say Happy Mothers Day to the perfect woman who is my mother, Dana Sue Erickson Adams. I love you so much Mom. I am so happy to be able to have two parents like you and dad who have raised us 4 brilliant amazingly handsome children. I love you so much mom I cant even explain it. You are literally my favorite person in the world... behind dad. haha just kidding you are equal partners in the Plan of God, so I love you equally. But thank you so much for the life you have provided for me for the past 20 years of my life.
This week went fairly well. We had two baptisms with Geraldo and Yahir, both are from part member families. Its partial member family szn out here. It is the last week of the cycle and I get my new comp on Monday morning so I will inform you on what is up with that when I get going with him.
Congrats to the brody for graduating. He straight looks like he could be my dad in these photos, like he already is in the crimson club or something with season tickets to all the football and basketball games. And hes lookin' a little round in the face, gained a few pounds or what brah? haha just kiddin. That's awesome though really that he is already done with school.
I'm going to call you at 6 on Sunday. And that is 6 mexico time I'm not sure if there is a difference in Utah. Tell dad just to jump on to some roids and he will heal right up in no time with that lousy shoulder of his.
We are doing pretty good down here though. Finding lots of people, trying to get them baptized and trying to establish the church down here in Mexico. Sorry I don't have much to say this week but I'm doing good and I love you.

Sorry, I have no time to write this week so I got to keep it short this week, I love you and happy everything is going good. That is awesome that Court is graduating this week. He got that done pretty quick it seems like.
I'm doing good, I got called to train this next cycle so that is pretty neat I guess. I have pictures but I cant send them because I have no time at all to upload them. Today is the Mexican employee day or something like that so all of the internet cafes by the house are closed. We have been searching 1 hour just to find somewhere to write and the guy in here is about to kick us out.
Have a good week. Love you! I will write more next week, promise but #mexico
