02/20/2018

I got transferred to the wards Fuentes de Ecatepec and Tulpetlac. We have two wards in our area. My comp is awesome for real this time. We are from the same generation. His name is Elder Tellez from Oaxaca. We both have 6 months and he is the district leader in the biggest district in the mission so we out here trying to get those #Baptismsbyemersionlikejesuschristwasbaptized but he is awesome.

The new area is very different from my other. They are close to each other but different. This area is flatter with a lot of small projects - like apartment buildings. The best way I can explain it is like in the movie the blind side when they go to where Michael Ohr grew up and it was like those projects. It's like that but a little more ghetto and Mexican but I don't know much about it yet cuz I only got a day here.

It's a community called Las Fuentes - that's where I live for at least the next 6 weeks. I was ready to get out of the old area. The house here is a lot bigger so that is nice and it is a smaller area even though we have one ward to ourselves and part of another. My new comp is so humble and easy to get along with. Oh yea and my new zone leader throws a 95 mile per hour fastball and almost got drafted by the good ole red sox before the mission. He is awesome and in our district.

Love ya'll family! I hope you have a good week and keep the commandments. And remember the covenents you have made with God. #foodforthought Love ya'll. Keep it real this week.

This week has been pretty crazy. It went by really slow with teaching people again. We have transfers this week so I think I might leave because I have been here for 4 cycles and President told me I am probably getting transferred but we will see what happens with everything.

With the package I will need shirts, and maybe shoes. Hermana Naumann said I probably won't be able to find shoes my size here because President is also a 13 and he cant find his size.  I didn't know Bishop was leaving for his mission, that is cool. He is going where Will is. Did we get a new bishopric or what?  That is good Luke is out there doing work for the good ole red white and blue, I miss America sometimes. And how organized and legal everything is. Here it seems like there is no law and the police are extremely corrupt so everyone gets away with just about everything.

I got your package but the letter inside was for another missionary so somewhere in Mexico there is an Elder Jacob Lloyd who has the letter you sent me. I tried to send pictures this week but the computer isn't letting me download them. Sorry, but Mexico.

I'm doing good overall don't worry about Uncle Kade. Have a good week and stay classy.

02/06/2018

This week has been the same as every other week, all the days just kind of blur together.

Good thing those Patriots lost, and that tool Tom Brady, haha. I am happy for the Eagles though I guess. How is the basketball season going?

One thing here that is killing me is the air pollution. It is terrible. Some days I feel like I'm working in the mines and it smells terrible. There is a bunch of factories over here that burn bones and it smells terrible. I found out that there is bleach in the water here so that is probably a big reason why my hair is getting lighter, who woulds thunk?

One thing is I never thought there would be so many Jehovah Witnesses in Mexico and it is so frustrating to teach them because they have been brainwashed with apostasy and don't have any proof to back up their point of view.  They are so stubborn. It is annoying.

Love you! Have a good week. See ya in like a year and a half.

We always see this cowboy riding his horse everywhere

we have a broken window so we fixed it with a cereal box

01/30/2018

Yoooo, what is up familia?

This week flew by. It seems like it just goes faster and faster every day.  It has been cold recently so we have had a hard time finding with the cold and the rain because there is no one on the streets and nobody wants to leave their house to answer the door.

It is so hard to find people here. All the streets don't have street names so we have to walk down every street until we find out which one it is. It is such a waste of time when trying to find references or antiguos.

I'm good with my money, mom. Don't even worry, but my comp is terrible he runs out of money by week two every month so it is di-fi-cult. We have probably 7 investigators right now. But the problem in El Mirador is that no one is married because getting married in Mexico is a joke. All I know is that Satan has the people here in the palm of his hand and it is sad.

We haven't had much success in numbers to be honest this last month because nobody went to church during all the holidays and we are searching for these inactives but they are harder to get to church than the investigators. But all is good, not much crazy stuff happened this week and I didn't take any pictures.

Love ya.

01/23/2018

This week was good. Pretty slow, but good.

We had zone conference this week and it blew my mind. My mission president is insane with the knowledge for real. And he shares it with us but sometimes it just comes at ya like a Nolan Ryan fastball.

But things are the same here in the hills. You know when I received my call to Mexico City I was expecting to be serving in a city but this is far from a big city vibe. There are a lot  of people but it is very different than what I expected. Good, but different.

Sorry I don't have much time to write, my comp does not write very many people so he only takes like 30 minutes to email, so I try to hurry when I can. As far as the language, I mean I can speak to people, I'm definitely not fluent but I would say I'm sufficient. My comp is starting to make fun of me because I'm starting to sound like I'm from the north and have a northern accent. But who knows.

Love ya'll!Have a good week.

01/16/2018

Hey, mom how are you?

This week went by pretty good. I really don't know what you want me to tell you about the mission - the days just blend together and every day it is kind of the same thing haha.

I had a spiritual experience, I guess, when we were walking down a street the other day. I felt a prompting to turn around and go down a street behind us and the instant I turned a giant bear-dog leaped out to bite me from behind a car but when I turned I was out of the range of his bite and was saved.  So follow the spirit kids!  Another is we taught a lady who is a paranormal seeing, devil worshiping demon kind of a lady who had some problems and that was a crazy lesson. Aand that's all I will say about that, hahaha.

My comp almost got in a fight with some teenager. He wanted ten pesos and my comp didn't have any money so he started to push him and my comp is not the most humble person in the world so he pushed back. So uncle Kade had to jump in and save his butt. The kid was scared of me so he just went away so everything is all good now. That's all that happened this week so it was pretty good I guess.

I heard a lot of Mama Mia this week so that was exciting. I don't know why, the Mexican folk love Mama Mia. haha.

I love ya! Stay safe.

this is supposed to be a virgin Guadalupe spray painted thing haha

01/09/2018

Yaaaa. Aye Dana, hows it going?

This week was pretty good. I'm still in El Mirador for one more transfer. This place is pretty crazy. My comp hates it here. He came from the center; he was in the middle of the district in the Zócalo (if you have seen Spectre, the James Bond movie, the first scene is filmed there) but it is so different than here. It is a lot uglier and harder to find directions, which is true. None of the streets are labeled, it is 100% memory based to remember all the streets and there is a lot more dirt here.  He says its good I started off in the ugliest part of the mission because I can only go up from here haha.

That is crazy Alabama won again, they are just too good.  Something sad is that papa (Elder) Jimenez returned home this week.  I'm going to miss him, he helped me a lot the past few months. I forgot my camera again so I cant send pictures. Sorry. I hope we can go on a trip when I get back too but I still got a lot of time out here left so I'll let you worry about that ok? Tell the fam I love em and that uncle Kade's out here working to bring em blessings.

Love you! Stay safe.

01/02/2018

Yo Mama. How is the fam?

This week was eventful with the new years thing. A lot of drunk guys and a lot of fireworks. The past few days have been dead for the work though because of the giant drinking fest that is going on. All  I know is I feel like a piece of meat out here in these streets, I never thought I would regret being a tall white handsome light eyed man, but I just don't feel safe here sometimes haha.

Yea mom you do that, get yourself a hobby. It'll be fun, and as well it is important to attend the Temple haha. I miss watching football so much. I didn't think I would but I do. And playing kind of as well.

We have transfers this next week and I'm not sure what will happen but I will keep you posted haha. This week nothing extremely crazy or noteworthy happened. Sorry, I live a boring life but this picture is awesome. One morning I was getting ready and saw this baby just chilling out on this table, so that made my day. The lady put him in a fruit box so he couldn't move.

Love y'all! Have a good week!
