02/26/2019

yo yo yo whats up?

We had a good week this week . I had interviews with President and divisions with the Assistants this week so I was able to receive a lot of inspiration and revelation in these last few days. I am really excited to see whats going to come next.

We are teaching Luna who is such a cute little young 10 year old. She is getting baptized on Saturday. She is from a partial member family. Her mom is inactive but her aunt and uncle are taking her every Sunday. We are working to help the mom to reactivate. I love teaching little children because you really have to teach so simply and by doing so I have come to learn that the gospel is simple! And by teaching simply I am able to testify with more power of the doctrines of the gospel and help others come to understand and love the restored gospel of Christ.

I don't have a ton to report on other than that I love you all though. And I love the Lord.

02/19/2019 - Divine Apostleship

Hello my babies, how are you? This week was awesome. First my experience with Elder Cook

I was blessed to be able to listen to the counsel of 3 General authorities this last week, Elder Clayton the presiding president of the 70, Elder Valenzuela president of the area of Mexico, and Elder Quentin L Cook from the Quorum of the 12. Elder Cook bore his witness of the truthfulness of his calling as an apostle of the Lord and him being a special witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. And the spirit testified to me of the truthfulness of his witness. Elder Cook is a special witness of the Lord Jesus Christ along with the other 14 men that bear the title as a prophet, seer, and revelator, I know it and could not be more sure about anything else. The spirit has never testified of anything more strongly to me in this life than of that truth, that the Lord has called men in our day to be his mouthpiece and to continue with the restoration of all things in this last dispensation.

After the conference  we had the baptism of Yanet, the daughter of Beatriz who was baptized last week, so it was a pretty good week for us this past week. We also had members come up to us in church with their niece who wants to be baptized more than anything in the world. She is the cutest little girl and so happy to be baptized. The Lord has been pouring his blessings out in this area and I am so grateful for all he has given me.

I love the Church, and I love the one who runs it!

02/12/2019 - Preparation

The weeks are just flying by out here and the Lord blesses us every day with the tender mercies that he bestows upon us. Beatriz got baptized this week and it was an awesome experience! Her daughter unfortunately decided to wait because their dad put a whole bunch of doubts in their head the day of their baptism but one of her daughters is going to be baptized on Thursday. The other one might take a little more time. They are just small trials that the Lord has in store for us, but hey we are teaching and baptizing so I'm not to worried about it.

This week we are preparing for the coming of an apostle of the Lord, Elder Cook of the twelve is coming to visit the mission with Elder Whitney Clayton of the 70 and Elder Valenzuela of the 70. We also get to go to the temple today so this week will be full of revelation.

Sorry I don't have much time to write this week we get to go to the temple today so we are a little in a rush right now. But I love you, I pray that the Lord might bless you and that his spirit may rest upon you.

I love the Lord and I love his church...

02/05/2019 - Wheelin'

Hey, it is me again. This week was interesting. Some elders in the zone got assaulted again, they took his bag, plaque, books, phone, everything... but the funniest part is they did not even lay a finger on his companion hahaha! ¡¡Viva Mexico!! haha! I love it here! I actually never want to leave this place!

The familia Morales is getting baptized this week! Beatriz, Jeanet, and Itzel are getting baptized on Saturday and it is incredible to see the Atonement of the Lord work in their lives. They have truly come to understand the true doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ. And through his atonement, they have become "new creatures in him".

This week I was able to give a few priesthood blessings and as I gave them the doctrine of the priesthood became a little more clear to me. I am so grateful for the Priesthood of God that he has bestowed upon me. I know now in a much more real way that the power of God is manifested by the ordinances of the priesthood and that without the ordinances of the priesthood we would not be able to return and receive the blessings of eternal life. I am so blessed to have been able to grow up where the priesthood was always present in my life and home. I am grateful for the covenants that the Lord has established which allow us to receive the fullness of the blessings of his atonement and I am grateful for the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope this week you can all ponder the importance of, and power manifested in the ordinances of the priesthood.

with much love Elder McKade Erickson Adams

sorry, I only took one picture this week and it turned out very bad. but its with my boy elder Astle, we had MLC last week and i had to take advantage of the opportunity to take a picture with him.

01/29/2019 - Prayers Up

Hey... first I want to give a birthday shout out to my girl Whitney Thornton! Love you girl!!

This week went well. We have started working a lot more with members active and less/inactive. We are seeing the blessings that come from working with members down here in Mexico. I feel Good, I look good so what else could I ask for? We have zone conference tomorrow and it has been super awesome being able to prepare for it and receive revelation before hand. I cant wait to see what the Lord will reveal unto me during and after.

We have been working with la familia Morales and they are progressing so well and can't wait for their baptism on the 9th. It has been awesome to see the Lord work with them and change them constantly into new creatures in Christ. They have been having struggles in their life but are seeing the hand of the Lord constantly around them.

We are doing good down here in villa Madero, just working hard and loving life! The week has been pretty normal. We have been seeing the Lord work in our lives and in the lives of the people we are teaching and helping come unto Christ. I have been able to think a lot about the importance of covenants and ordinances that are available to us thanks to the restored gospel of Christ and how necessary they truly are in our lives to be able to receive the fullness of the blessings of the Atonement of the Lord. How the covenants we make are links between us and the Lord of promises and blessings in order to receive our exaltation. And how through the ordinances we are able to show our love by our actions and also feel the manifestations of God in our lives.

I love you all. I hope you have a great week!

1/22/2019 - Statue Scammin'

Yo yo yo what up fam!? This was a week of miracles!

Juan Manuel was baptized and it was an awesome experience we had with him. His brother was always taking him out of town but he told him off. He said that this week he was going to be baptized and confirmed and that he was not leaving until that was done. So his brother who was visiting from LA attended his baptismal service. It was really cool. After his baptism he had a moment alone in the font and said a prayer in there for a few minutes before leaving. He is a true convert to the Lord and it is awesome to see his change. It's crazy to think that I just contacted the guy in the street a month ago.

Familia Morales. We found a family of four this last week and they are awesome! they are extremely prepared to receive the gospel in their lives. At first they were hesitant to accept a baptismal date but after two or three visits they just opened their hearts to the spirit and can't wait until their baptism. We had a family home evening with them and two other families in the ward and it was awesome. We talked about always remaining worthy. It is a mom and her 3 kids. They are so awesome!

Oh yea... another apostle is visiting the mission! Elder Cook is coming with Elder Whitney Clayton the the mission. We are blessed here in Mexico City!

There were transfers but we stayed in villa madero together with my same companion. We have been having lots of success and are enjoying the work together.

I love you guys I hope you have a great week!

3 I am mindful of you always in my prayers, continually praying unto God the Father in the name of his Holy Child, Jesus, that he, through his infinite goodness and grace, will keep you through the endurance of faith on his name to the end.

1/15/2019 - With The Strength of His Arm

This week went great! The area is really starting to look better! We found a family of 5 and three of them are progressing very well. We went to the CV with them yesterday and were able to watch the video about the family and it was very special. Their names are Beatriz(mom) Itzel, and Yanet (daughters). We also had two confirmations on Sunday of two kids from a partial member family. It was a great week for us here in Villa Madero.

I was studying this week in Alma 17 and 18 and i found some very interesting things that caught my attention.
35 Therefore they did not fear Ammon, for they supposed that one of their men could slay him according to their pleasure, for they knew not that the Lord had promised Mosiah that he would deliver his sons out of their hands; neither did they know anything concerning the Lord; therefore they delighted in the destruction of their brethren; and for this cause they stood to scatter the flocks of the king.
36 But Ammon stood forth and began to cast stones at them with his sling; yea, with mighty power he did sling stones amongst them; and thus he slew a certain number of them insomuch that they began to be astonished at his power; nevertheless they were angry because of the slain of their brethren, and they were determined that he should fall; therefore, seeing that they could not hit him with their stones, they came forth with clubs to slay him.
37 But behold, every man that lifted his club to smite Ammon, he smote off their arms with his sword; for he did withstand their blows by smiting their arms with the edge of his sword, insomuch that they began to be astonished, and began to flee before him; yea, and they were not few in number; and he caused them to flee by the strength of his arm.
38 Now six of them had fallen by the sling, but he slew none save it were their leader with his sword; and he smote off as many of their arms as were lifted against him, and they were not a few.
39 And when he had driven them afar off, he returned and they watered their flocks and returned them to the pasture of the king, and then went in unto the king, bearing the arms which had been smitten off by the sword of Ammon, of those who sought to slay him; and they were carried in unto the king for a testimony of the things which they had done.

Something that came to my mind was that the Lord will use our own strengths to manifest his power. He used Ammon's strength to show forth his power. And Ammon had 100% confidence in the covenant and promise that the Lord had made to preserve his life. At the end he did not boast of his strength or accomplishment but instead he continued doing his duty and serving the king. The Book of Mormon has been the tool most important in my conversion process. I know it is true and the doctrines found in it are true and that these truths have been revealed through a modern day prophet.

Love you guys hope you have a good week!

1/8/2019 - Hand of the Lord

The week went by super quick. I feel like I wrote yesterday. But the work is going very well here. We were able to find a new family of five yesterday to teach. They are super awesome and the Lord has been preparing this family to receive the Gospel into their lives. It has been a tough couple of weeks with finding, teaching, and baptizing, but the Lord is blessing us in many ways. We also found an inactive brother who we got to attend on Sunday. His girlfriend is not a member and she wants to be baptized so we are also going to be working with them a lot these next few weeks. They just need to get married (law of chastity is a big problem in Mexico).

The new ven sĆgueme program is awesome! I have been able to study it a little bit and it is awesome that the Lord has set it up in a way to allow us to learn by faith and not just in the classroom. Obviously the lord has wanted us to study individually and in family like this forever but now it gives us members a little extra push to make us be responsible for our own learning experience. I hop you all are studying out of the come follow me. Our salvation depends on it! If we cannot follow the counsel of the prophets and other leaders we will not able to receive exaltation. The Lord is preparing us for great things and expects great things from the saints.

We also had MLC with president last week and it was awesome. We found out the name of the new mission president who will come when President Naumann leaves. He seems like a really great guy. We baptized over 1,000 people as a mission last year. It was awesome to see the progress that has been made in this mission with President Naumann. We have so many great tools here - the temple, visiting center, sister in the visiting center. It has been a great experience working in this mission.

Well I love you. Hope your week is splendid!

1/1/2019 - 2019

What is up my babies? How have you been?

This week went well. Some more troubles with getting people baptized but we are still trying. This week we had two baptisms on Saturday of 2 partial member family kids but they did not show up on Sunday. And now we have been trying to get in touch with them and the mom is mad at us. It has been a difficult situation for the last few weeks but keep on keepin on.  You gotta have faith like George Michaels you know what I mean?

On the other hand, it has been soooo hottt.... the sun is burning out here. It does not feel like January that's for sure. We have been running into a bunch of parties and drunks lately for the festive season but they are usually nice. Just smells like liquor and feet for the most part and people talk here soooo much, you cannot get them to shut their mouths sometimes. They ask us a question and cut us off when we start to speak. We again affirm their original message and tell us we are wrong when we don't even listen to us. But it is cool we usually get some good stories out of it. Most the time we have to just cut them off because we are in no way completing our purpose by just listening to these guys all day.

Other than that it has been a normal week. I love you and hope you have a good week!

for Mik...

12/18/2018 - Blessings of Abraham

First got to give a shout out to Ashley for the Backpack! I love it! Also happy birthday to my guy Taylor out there in Africa!

This week was really good! My new companion is awesome! We are having a lot of fun and success together so far. We have a baptism planned on Saturday with our girl Paola and then 4 more on the 29! We are seeing lots of miracles in the area and zone. Our goal is to baptize 200 people in the month of December! It will be the most baptisms in the mission since the early 2000s.

Story time! This week we were walking in the street pretty late one night and some guy called us over. We went over and the guy was off of his mind on some type of drug (we think crack). He took the watch right off of his wrist and offered to sell it for 150 pesos and we were like forget about it, this guy is high out of his mind. He then lowered it to 100 and we said, hermano, we have nothing. so he dropped it down to 70, still nothing. Then to 50 and at this point we started searching our pockets for some extra change cuz thats a 3 dollar watch right there and we only had 25.  We offered the 25 and he denied. So we knocked on the door of Paola (getting baptized Saturday) and he yelled at us "Come, Take it before I repent!" and he sold us his watch for 25 pesos. It was the best purchase I have made yet in Mexico. The things a guy will do for money right?

Today we went to the temple and did a session and sealings and it was awesome. We are unable to do sealings as a spouse as missionaries but we did it as children and I learned a ton of new stuff. Mostly I just felt super blessed being able to have been born into a family with the gospel.  I also was able to receive endowments for good ole Grampa Johnson Knight Adams. It was an awesome experience and I could feel him ministering to me during and after the session. The temple blesses families! And I  am extremely grateful this day for dad having joined the church, because of him we will now enjoy the blessings of eternity with his ancestors. Thanks dad!

p.s. i will call at like 7 on Tuesday alright? so be ready.

love yaaaaaa

12/11/2018 - What's Goin' On, Slick?

Hey, whats good fam? Happy birthday shout out to my young blood Court, stay classy fool.

This week was an interesting one. I had to send my boy Elder Dahle off, he should be getting home later in the afternoon. That was a hard one. I hate to watch em go. My new companion is Elder Burnham from Montana! He is an awesome Elder and we should have a lot of success together.

The Lord has been testing us this past week. There have been lots of issues with investigators and people who were supposed to be baptized that were not for other reasons and it has been a little hard to be able to be patient, but the Lord is trying to teach us right now.  We are confident in the power of the Lord and that he will help us in our times of tribulation and even though I get frustrated and stressed about that stuff sometimes I always seem to be happy which I think is good haha. But its OK we are still planning 5 baptisms for December, and are relying on the Lord to help us help these 5 souls come unto Christ through this saving ordinance. I've learned a lot of things during the mission. especially patience, humility, and meekness.

So this week is the day of the virgin and boy is it a circus out here. People come in from all parts of Mexico on a pioneering trip to pay tribute to the Virgin Altisima. It is ridiculous. Idolatry is on a different level down here. It is crazy to see these people, and of course the center of everything is in our ward boundaries so the whole place is packed. The government is closing streets down and everything so these people can camp out and go buck wild. It's awesome to be part of the true church where we worship the only true and living God.

Love ya. Have a good week. Sorry no pictures this week, except one :)

12/04/2018 - Skyscrapin'

Yoooooooooo... this week was swell, just working hard down here. Today we were able to go downtown to the zócalo and visit a few places. It was fun. It is the last P day for my companion and the last P day of the cycle which means I will be getting a new companion next week. I'll let you know what happens aight.

The Lord has been blessing us with miracles these last few weeks. We have been able to find a lot of people who the Lord has been preparing to receive the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a baptism planned every week for the next 5 weeks. Now we just pray that the Lord will spill his spirit out upon them that they will be able to receive a witness of the truthfulness of the message and have the desire to be baptized. We have the goal in the mission to baptize 200 in the month of December so that is what we are looking forward too as of right now. Praying and working hard so that the Lord will bless us.

There is honestly not too much to report on I feel like, because every day feels like a blur and it is going by so fast that I don't remember a lot of the stuff that happens to be honest. I also need to get better at keeping a journal so that I can remember all that happens on my mission. I love you and hope you have good week!

¡Puro poder!

This last weekend, there were many changes in the stakes within our mission. We went from 68 wards to 46 stronger and bigger wards. The Xalostoc and Centenario stakes do not exist any more and a new stake was formed, the Madero Stake. These are the missionaries serving there. Pure power!

11/27/2018 - Pictures Right Quick

Hey! Sorry, I don't have much time right now. I am writing from the phone of elder Montalvo. He is an assistant. We are visiting an old area of Elder Dahle and I won't be able to write this week. It was an awesome week . I love you I hope next week I'll have more time to write. Everything is going good up here and I'm loving the work. Happy Thanksgiving. I will write more next week.

11/20/2018 - Lucha Libre

Isss ya boi!!! Whats up fam, hows it been? I hear Trevor moving out to Tampa. That's awesome and really cool. Just goes to show you there is more stuff out there than just Utah and I'm def going to visit him next year to watch them Buccs play boii!!

This week went well like usual and we are having a ball down here. Today we were able to go to the Ciudadela which is a place where there are tons of local vendors from every state in Mexico and sell a bunch of cultural stuff. I bought a lucha libre mask and a t-shirt from Oaxaca. It is outside of the mission but it is Elder Dahle's last cycle so we have permission to go to some places before he leaves. We also had divisions with Elder Ortega and Elder Hansen from Box Elder. It was fun. I was able to work with Elder Hansen and was able to learn a bunch of stuff from him.

¡¡¡¡Miracle alert!!!!

We were contacting the other night and we have the standard to have at least 30 conversations a day to be able to find new people to teach.  It was super late and we were super tired and we had like 28 contacts down, so we had to get at least 2 more contacts. I contacted this kid smoking a cigarette on the bench in a park and I asked him "would you like to know how you could improve your quality of life?" He said " by becoming closer with the Lord" BINGO! He explained how he has been down lately gotten into drugs and want to get out and have a better life. We explained a little about the atonement, plan of salvation, and the importance of making covenants and he accepted a baptismal date. it was litty.  The Lord is helping us in his work.

Love you fam. have a good week.

11/13/2018 - Heavy Hitters

Happy birthday to the greatest man alive! Arvil Vaughn Adams! Love my pops and am grateful for his love and support!

How's the fam!? This week was great and we have seen a lot of miracles in our area this week. Got to thank the Lord for his grace and mercy in our lives. We have been having a lot of difficulties and afflictions in the area but also we recognize the blessing we are receiving. and we are stoked to be out here working with the Lord.

Elder Dahle is awesome! It is like I'm living with one of my boys back home haha. Just here we are more focused on bringing souls unto God haha. He is from Tremonton, Utah. I did not know that was even a place until he told me about it haha.

This week we found another miracle! Christ came in clutch like always by hitting us with the assist of Juan Carlos. This man is chosen and a half. We had one lesson with this guy and he said "what do I have to do to get baptized this week?" but in Spanish of course. It was one of those lessons that the spirit was just so strong that even Helen Keller would've felt something in that room. Elder Dahle and I  just looked at each other during the lesson and just smiled like the Grinch when he said that. We walked out of there with the biggest smile on our faces and giving respect to the Lord.

We know that Jesus Christ is the son of God the father, and he Is God the son, I know it. And I know it aside from anything any one has told me or any ideas I might have in my head. He is the Savior of the world and the only name by which we can be saved.  I love the Lord, I love the church, and I love to work in his vineyard and help with the gathering of Israel.

Love y'all I hope you have a great week!

Mosiah 2

22 And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.

23 And now, in the first place, he hath created you, and granted unto you your lives, for which ye are indebted unto him.

24 And secondly, he doth require that ye should do as he hath commanded you; for which if ye do, he doth immediately bless you; and therefore he hath paid you. And ye are still indebted unto him, and are, and will be, forever and ever; therefore, of what have ye to boast?

25 And now I ask, can ye say aught of yourselves? I answer you, Nay. Ye cannot say that ye are even as much as the dust of the earth; yet ye were created of the dust of the earth; but behold, it belonging to him who created you

11/06/2018 - Villa Madero

What is up my babies!?

This week was awesome! We are out here just trying to work our butts off. The ward boundaries of all of Mexico changed and also names changed so we are now Barrio Villa Madero.

This week was awesome! We were able to see a lot of miracles in our area this week. A lot of the elect of God are roaming the streets down here in GAM . Today we were able to visit the Basilica de Guadalupe and it was crazy. It is the biggest catholic church in the Americas. I will for sure send pictures. Grandma Kelsch would absolutely love it down here. It is like Disneyland for Catholics, which makes me so grateful for the success we do have in this area.  Happy that even though this place is so saturated with crazy Catholic, Virgin Guadalupe worshipers there are a lot of people who are willing to listen to the restored gospel and have open hearts.

So this week the Lord blessed us with some miracles, let me tell you about them. On Sunday Elder Dahle and I went to the area of one of the district leaders to help them contact and find people to teach. We left to work in their area for an hour and a half and in that hour and a half we found 12 future investigators and put  baptismal dates in the street with people. It was an amazing experience and we really saw the hand of God in our work that day. After we ended the divisions we left the chapel and contacted a guy right outside and he accepted to go on a chapel tour. We taught him about the Sabbath Day, the sacrament, and baptism, and confirmation, and he accepted a baptismal date right there. The Lord has been very merciful with us so far here.

Sorry fam but I got to go, we don't have much time today, but I love you. Stay true to the faith!
