9/18/2018 - Viva Mexico!!!

Whats up beautiful family?

This week was Mexican independence day. It got pretty turnt outchea in the streets. It was super fun, we had a ward activity and they made us participate in it. We did Mexican trivia and it was us against the sister missionaries in the ward, who are both Mexican by the way, and we won. TEAM AMERICA! And if anyone asks why El Cinco de Mayo is celebrated tell them it is because the Batalla de Puebla. They also made all the men there participate in a Mexican yell/ dance thing. so it was pretty fun.

This week we found a guy who is super ready to accept the Gospel in his life. He contacted us on his bike the other week. We thought he was just trying to speak English with us, but we put a lesson time with him. When we went we were not expecting anything and of course he wasn't there, but after two weeks of looking for him we finally found him. He told us all of his problems and how much help he needs and why he needs to get closer to Christ. We taught him about the atonement of Christ and baptism and he accepted a baptismal date, oh yea and he came to church on Sunday in a suit (which in Mexico does not ever happen, even the bishops don't wear suits). It was so amazing to be able to see God's hand in our life that day, especially having a tough week the week before.

We finished up another cycle, but we didn't have changes in our companionship luckily. We have found a lot of people recently and we wanted to stay together to see their progression. We did get a new elder in the house though his name is Elder Price from Syracuse. He just got here yesterday from the CCM and he got soooo sick. He got sick his first day in the field and was throwing up all night. He even had to take his mattress and move it in front of the bathroom. that's how bad it got. I feel bad for the kid. I had to go out super late last night with Elder Flores to get his comp some meds. It was an interesting experience walking the streets of Mexico late at night, but we had permission from President so its all good.

Much love. Have a good week.

26 And the Messiah cometh in the fullness of time, that hemay redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted   upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.
27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are   free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the  captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
